Clinique 3 Step System

Hi guys. I hope you are enjoyed the Long weekend. Amidst all the eating & joyous celebrations and travels, remember to take care of your skin. This month on my beauty section I bring you the Clinique 3 Step System. I have been using Clinique for the past 4 weeks to sass it out. Their 3 step system comes in 4 varieties for different skin types.

Type 1 is for people with very dry to dry skin. Type 2 for dry to combination skin. Type 3 (my skin type) is for combination to Oily skin. Type 4 is for Oily skin.
I have been trying type 3 because most times my skin is oily but at certain times it becomes dry and oily all at once. The 3 step system works with 3 products.

First the liquid facial soap or gel. They are both the same just in different forms if you prefer bar soap or liquid soap. This is used to clean and remove dirt on the skin.  I tried both but I prefer the liquid form because of convenience more than anything. It cleanses really well & also gentle on my skin. From a cost point the bar soap lasts way longer than the liquid soap.

Secondly is the clarifying lotion (what is commonly referred to as toner). The clarifying lotion is used to remove any excess dirt & impurities left after cleansing. I am not the biggest fan on the clarifying lotion. The opening of the bottle is too big which spills easily and I always end up drenching my facial pads with it. I also felt it was very harsh on my skin.

Lastly is the moisturizing lotion. OMG I love it. Once I apply it, my skin feels silky smooth. Plus it doesn’t cause a shine. It gives my skin this silky matte finish. The extra benefit is that it doesn’t hurt the eyes when applying over the face.

If you are going to try it, it also comes in trail packs. For the exact reason to try them out. If you like it then you can move on to the bigger things.

Fun With Prints

Mixing patterns and prints. A thing people are often so scared off. I am too at times. But I think I am learning the minimal way to approach it. Here I paired shots I made in 2013 with a vintage blouse & the leopard print belt. The leopard print could appear as harsh if you over do it. But I think having a minimal item like it works well.

Wearing shots also means you are already exposed. Cover up the top but keep it interesting with a bright top.

Statement shoes have never hurt anyone. A god pair of shoes could save anyone. Try a bright coloured pair to make the whole outfit pop. Mine are from the Boity range from Legit. XOXO

Laid Back Denim

Denim has always been on trend. I feel like in the past few weeks I have been so inspired by denim trends I have seen. Budgets are still tight (for me that is) and spending sprees are not on my radar. I do however feel that I can re-use so much of what I already have to enhance my denim looks.

I found this cute jumpsuit at Mr Price. It’s just a simple stunner and very different from my other denim items. I paired it with a shirt and brogues for a more casual feel. I definitely see myself wearing this with heels and a blazer coat for a date night or meet up with the girls.
Try out different styles of denim as opposed to jeans. Denim Skirts are currently a huge thing. Buy one that won’t be quickly outdated. Nothing is worse that buying something only to wear it for one season.

Jumpsuit is from Mr Price
Shirt from Ackermans (Yep!!! school shirt)
Brouges are from Trennery @ Woolworths

The Grand White Dinner Cape Town

Hi guys. So the boyfriend and I attended the Grand White Dinner on Saturday the 13th Feb. I had previously seen the event on social media and I was interested to attend. The story behind it is that it's a dinner party where everyone dresses in white with a touch of green. Hundreds of people gather at a secret location, which only gets announced on the event morning. I must say I was looking forward to this. You can get more details ad tickets sales about it here.

If any of the event organizers read this (lol) I have a few things I would caution.
a)     I didn’t like the fact that even though when I bought tickets I bought a specific seat, when we arrived we had to look for seats as most were occupied.
b)    Entertainment, it’s a huge country with many artists, get us more entertained. We paid over R400 we deserved more. Not to spend over 30 minutes in total silence. I have paid R100 and received more from an event.
Otherwise it’s a great way to unwind. Take the girls and go let your hair down.

Bring some good food and lots of drinks to party the night away.
Pretoria is next on the 12th March
Jozi 2nd April
Durban 16th April

I wore a crop to from Mr Price
Pants are vintage; see how I wore them here & here
Shoes are from Legit
The bag is from Zara

One Item 3 Ways/ Vintage Classics

Hi guys.  Dineo loves vintage. OMG I adore vintage clothing. I will write a whole series about it soon. Anyways on one of my usual vintage hunts, I stumbled upon this polka dot babe. She was smelly and dirty when I met her but because I knew we would be great friends. I took her home and washed her past life away. Needless to say she is one of my to-go summer dresses.

Here are 3-ways I decided to rock it. What do you think?

One Item 3 Ways/ Green Mini 2 Piece/ Green With Envy

Hi guys. I like mixing & matching. I like to have the option to wear something in a variety of ways and changing the standard way it was presented to me. I took some of my staples and mixed them up a bit.

First up is this green 2 piece. This was a strong contender for favourite clothing item of 2015.

The first look is a very classic look. I love this look. The whole way I paired it and everything just gives me joy to look at. I’d wear this for a lovely dinner date or a night out with m y girls. It’s definitely a classic. Green with envy!!!

Secondly I then paired the skirt with some bright orange hues. I love this combo because you can take it to the office (if you work in a space that allows short dresses). I also see myself rocking this to a brunch or meeting with clients. I can definitely fit in a club as well with this look.

The last look is more street edge and playful. I like going to chisa nyama places every now and then and this look is made for that. The sneakers give it a laid back feel and some comfort if you will dance (or try).

I believe clothes should transform us and give us the chance to play with them. Which is your favourite look????

Llandudno Beach/ Cleansing Away 2015

Hi guys. . If you are a new reader WELCOME  &  if you are a regular reader thank you for always coming back.HAPPY NEW YEAR.
I wish you a very productive and joyful year. For myself I want to work hard and stay healthy & humble. I definitely am going to share more of my closet with you guys to purchase and I am going to do more on the blog.

I am going to share some more of my travels with you guys. I did a lot of that in 2015 but missed on the oppotunity to share.

One thing I definitely enjoy is exploring the beaches of the world, well only South Africa thus far but wait and see. One beach I would recommend if you live in Cape Town or wanna come visit is Llandudno beach. This is one of the countries Blue flag beaches. It’s really beautiful. See here for directions. I envy people who got the opportunity to live in such places but that’s where the hard work comes in I guess.

I thoroughly enjoyed myself there and got to properly finish my holiday. If you read the blog often you’d know how I’ve been moaning about my weight. Of late, I’m just going with the flow. I’m letting myself & body catch up in my own time. Enjoy 2016 & Thank you for still visiting.

The bikini bottom I am wearing is from Mr Price & the DIY top is a doek I got from my MAMA!!!!!!

Merry Berry Xmas/ Essence Merry Berry Range

Hi guys. This month I think I am doing the most fitting beauty review. The Essence beauty range has become somewhat of a resident at my beauty desk. The beauty label then further swept me off my feet when they launched the Merry Berry Collection at the End of November. The range consists of lipsticks, nail polish and a gold dust powder.

The berry inspired range of lipsticks is my favourite. The deep dark purple is my number one. I love their lipsticks because they also moisturize. Not very long wearing but definitely worth the Mandela’s. When it comes to a quality affordable product they are at the top of my Christmas list.

I am learning slowly but surely to have pretty nails. Essence is the best range for this because they are so affordable. Be merry and try them.
The golden dust I will adorn on new-year’s eve. Nothing like a gold shimmer to take you to the New Year. It also smells so divine and the packaging OMG, too cute.
