Hey guys. Like a true fashion obsessed person I am, I follow
fashion weeks from Joburg in March, Cape Town in July (which I attend like
church) to New York, London, Milan and Paris twice annually. It’s the few times of
the year when I make sure my subscription is paid so that I can watch fashion
weeks and what’s happening. This year I loved and was inspired by a
lot. I particularly loved bags from Anya Hindmarch. Her bags left me sleepless
for 2 nights. They are so genius and such traffic stoppers. They even have
names like the Ebury, who doesn’t want a bag named that. Anyhow check the
collection out.

Thrifted Pink
I would be understating if I said I love thrifted items. Here I am wearing a R150 dress I bought from Mary Black at The Vintage Experience. These pics don’t show the true nature of the dress. The sleeves are amazing. Will show you guys later.

The Vintage Experience
Hi Guys. I love vintage and all things old. I love thrift
shopping and exploring markets and peoples basements all in search of that old
dress that has a mouldy old scent. The
business of selling vintage items is big and if you are fan of these items of
clothing, you will have noticed on how there markets are popping up everywhere.
A few weeks back I attended the vintage experience market at Truth Café in Cape
Town. This was my first market as I am used to doing vintage hunts in my
corners all over the city. If you love vintage then go to their Facebook page
(The Vintage Experience) and see updates on their next events and venues. The
next market is on the 26th September at the Woodstock Town Hall. I
hope to see you there and please say hi.

Khayelitsha Park (Kwa Ace)
Hi guys hope
you had a fabulous weekend. Living in Cape Town means we seldom see sunshine
and when it comes, it only lasts for three months then it’s back to storms and
winds. When the sun comes out we all come out of our holes and busk and take as
much advantage of the sun as we can.
A few years
ago my boyfriend introduced me to a park in Khayelitsha where people go and
chill and enjoy the weekend with friends. I have been going a lot (too much)
lately because it has become such a phenomenon. Hundreds of people flock on
this street and gather to meet and greet. It has become such a craze that
people take gazebos and just have a chilled time. People stay there until after
midnight on some really warm days or when the music is too good to go home. In
my experience Sundays are the best days and the most fun. They also have a
banging chisa nyama that will not let you down. Try their sausage and thank me
later.
Fashion is
also a big thing among the ladies who gather at this pond. They make sure they
are on point with the ration of guys to girls being 5 to 1. Ladies you will
have your pick as there are tons of men there weekly. My single girl friends
have made it their spot to asses and choose among the bachelors. If you have
tried it out please comment on your experience. If you have not been you should
be there I tell you. It’s located on Spine road in Khayelitsha. Just take the
N2 and take the off-ramp that says Mew way. Drive straight down mew way until
you see the lookout hill and the mass of cars will be on Spine road, and then
you know you have found the place. Say hey when you see me, chances are you
will.

Marie Claire Trunk Show
Hi Guys. I know on Fridays I do a
feature on a style stunner or some-one I admire. This week I will break the
rules a bit and go a bit of track. Last night Marie Claire magazine hosted
their trunk show in Cape Town. I had seen the event taking place in Joburg and
I knew I wanted to be a part of it when it happens in Cape Town. The trunk show
is where the magazine invites designers, fashion brands and other fashion and
lifestyle related brands to come and sell their items. This year it was held at
the beautiful and charming Cape Town city hall. The venue I felt was very
fitting as it’s very accessible and easy to locate in the city. It’s also
opposite the grand parade which made parking bliss. My girlfriends and I went
and took the whole experience in. There were also live performances which made
the event even nicer. I would encourage you
guys to go next time and see and be seen. Especially if you have an interest in
fashion. Maria MacCloy was there exhibiting her awesome clothes and
accessories. I wore a crop top I made ages ago and has been in the back of my
closet, some high waist topshop skinny jeans, wedges I bought while travelling
and a vintage mini purse.
