Grey Matter/ Mr Price New & Old

Hi guys. I went to Mr Price the other day & I immediately fell in love with this skirt. I just knew it was going to play a huge role in my winter gear. I love buying items like these which translate from both play to work. It’s simple yet the pleats & the wooliness make it special for me. I am still learning my fabrics and terms so bear with me. It was also a bargain which made even more sense to me. Mr Price items are always budget savers.

I bought these shoes at Mr Price I think in 2009 or 2010. They are still as good as new. People always say I have too many shoes and suggest that if I have had them for too long; I should give some away. I seldom do this as I know all my shoes come in handy at some point. Imagine had I gotten rid of these, what would I match with now, Lol.

Buy smart. Buy items that will work for many seasons. This skirt will also be worn for Spring & Summer just watch this space. The poloneck is also Mr Price (go figure), Coat is Vintage & the bag from Zara

Cocktail Hour @ Dineostyled

Hi Guys. Life and work can get a bit tooo much many times. Time-out and relaxation is much needed every now and then.  I missed a friend of mine and needed some crazy time together. We hadn’t seen each other in a while & I wanted a chilled night in just laughing & talking. I thought instead of the usual wine we can do something different. I have recently loved Vodka for one reason or the other. Anyway I invented some cocktails that are really crazy good. The ingredients are quite unconventional & some ordinary for cocktails. I just took what naturally tasted good to me & made it work.

To make the cocktails you will need:
Absolut Vodka in any flavour/ Any Vodka you like in fact
Oros Orange Squash (the man in my life)
Pellegrino/ Any sparkling water or flavourant of choice
Berries. I like these from Pick n Pay because they are frozen & available even when berries are out of season.

The Rehidrat & wilson sweeties are for the morning after. Remember that a hang-over is caused by your body being dehydrated and needed electrolytes and water. This is where the Rehidrat in. The Wilsons are for the sugar you need to regain the energy lost the night before. You can eat chocolate but it ain't my thing. Plus Wilsons Champions bring such precious childhood memories.

1st off it’s the Berry-Absolution. I know the names are lame but work with me. Juts blend together a some Ice, Pellegrino water, Vodka and the berries of choice; and Voila!!

2nd is the Absolut-Orange. Blend Ice, Vodka, Oros & Voila you have yourself an Absolut-Orange.

Last is the Over worked Berry. I named it thus because at some point we used the same tasteless berries to decorate the same drink. Kind of the way one feels after long long day of crazy school or work.

I hope you enjoy and share some of your cocktails mixtures!!!! Mwaaa

Friendship: The Power Of Love

Friendship! The beauty that is a sisterhood of people that make life so much better. 1st May was one of my girlfriend’s birthdays. We hardly see one another as we all graduated and moved all over the country to settle in our respective work lives. We stay in touch of course & we try and make time as musch as we can to see other as often as possible.

Anyway we did this shoot as part of her birthday celebration. Every time I see all my friends my heart skips because there is no other place that offers that kind of safety net. Yes Baes are cool & siblings even better. Yet friends make the moments sweeter. This is not all of us & the family was incomplete on this trip.

When you have long distance relationships like we do, I always realize upon seeing them how precious life. I also get to see the true value of time because so much happens  & miss some little moments. We always have the best of times. I couldn't have asked for better people to steal my clothes. Love lives here!!!

Winter Beauty Splurge/ Current Favourites

Hi guys. Today was an absolute nightmare. Living in Cape Town and commuting with public transport can be nightmarish. I got mugged and the guy took my phone. I survived the ordeal unharmed but I have no phone. I cried some & swore some & shopped even more & I am ohk. Life is short & I am still blessed to live mine.

Anyways I have become somewhat of a lip care and colour fanatic. I have become obsessed.

I grew up in a village and there was always this notion that said  “wild women” from the city are the lipstick wearing type or the ones that have dyed hair. I never got around to understanding what wildness these babes got up to. Anyways I never explored this part of beauty for a while. I think I went through all of varsity without ever purchasing lipstick. Yes I had lip glosses but never  fiery red or orange lips. “Turn down for whom” is my new motto when it comes to lip & hair colour. I haven’t spread my wings that far with hair; but lips oh yeah I’m in deep.

Mathahle Stofile who is my beauty crush motivated this in me to explore more beauty products. I currently love MAC ,Elizabeth Arden & Yardley lip products.

First is the Lush Lip Scrub. I tend to have dry lips that chap throughout the year. In winter it’s a total new drama because they crack till they hurt with the Cape rains & winds. I love this scrub. I use it to exfoliate my lips when they get naughty and I swear I swallow it too. It tastes like sugar and smells so lovely. I also got a body scrub nje just for control, LOL

The Elizabeth Arden eight hour cream has saved my lips for winters. I have used the tube for about 2 years now and I love it. I recently bought the lipstick version of it because I use clutch bags many of the times and it’s just a better fit. Plus the lipstick version had added colour which is nice to give an update for winter. But having just the tube is the same & is friendlier on the pocket.

They also have a range of matte lipsticks and I have been trying it for a while and so far so good. It moisturises well without giving me the shine which is not my thing.

MAC lipsticks have become a daily part of my routine in many ways. My favourite is the Purple heroine colour and the Red Ruby Woo. I love matte lipsticks and they do the trick for me. I also tried blush for the 1st time because I thought why not have a bit of colour on my cheeks for dull winter days.

My latest discovery is the Yardley liquid matte range. Oh my am I excited to have met thee. I love how it’s easy to apply with its liquid feel and then a few minutes later its like I am wearing matte lipstick. The colours are very intense which is also a plus for me and the price is reasonable. It also lasts for hours & I don’t have to worry about updating it during a crazy work schedule.

What are some of your favourite products? Recommend winter savers that can save a girl.
