Hi
guys. So last week the boyfriend & I attended the Spier secret festival
on the wine estate in Stellenbosch. This was my first time at the estate. I had
often heard of their lovely gardens & restaurants from friends who had
been there for company functions and other events. The festival came as the
perfect excuse to soak up the lovely weather and take a road trip. The drive
was very short from where I stay as they are situated just off the high way.
The estate is lovely and true to their wine heritage, the wine is great too.
But this is coming from some-one who doesn’t know wines at all. I loved their
prices on bulk wines & the discounts. They also have a lovely
restaurant with a refreshing menu that was also light on my pocket. The food
from the food trucks for the festival got me feeling some type of way. I left
there with my second stomach full too. I often fear going to these places
because I think the prices will just be over my ability & I would walk
out of there without as much as a slice of cheese. I would recommend you go
there with someone and enjoy the food, view & of course the wine. I
will be taking a drive there sometime soon to get a lovely Basotho blanket I
saw in their store. You can find details on Spier here. I wore a DIY jumpsuit from while back &
white brogues from Woolworths

Woolies Block Heels & Matching Prints
What I love
the most about prints is the ability to transform them and apply them to suit
many items & styles. My basic shopping places are Vintage stalls & flee
a market, that’s where I will be found on my Saturday mornings. I love love Mr
Price too & now with online shopping, I have to curb my enthusiasm and halt
myself from over shopping there. One of my absolute favourites is +WOOLWORTHS SA . The quality at Woolworths is ideal for me when
it comes to things like white shirts and blouses, underwear etc. because I can keep them for long. In this post I mix
a top from Mr Price, shorts I made myself. I was so lucky to find this fabric
and them Mr Price release the grey version of the top. The shoes are from
Woolworths and they are an absolute comfort.

Friday Feature: Louis Philippe de Gagoue
Hi guys. If you read the blog you know about the Friday features
of some of my favourite people and things I generally love. This Friday I am doing
a feature on one of my favourite bloggers. Louis Philippe de Gagoue is a blogger,
personal shopper and stylist. I love his style. To say he is daring and unique
would be player hating him. He is just one of those people I immediately want
to be friends with. I have imaginary friends in hundreds whom I share imaginary
fashion tips and get advice from (Yes please judge me). Go through Louis Philippe’s blog here and
explore the magic yourself.

One Item many ways ; Vintage Lace Black Dress
Hi Guys. I shot this look because I have this vintage
lace dress I got a few years ago which I adore. It was a bargain even though I
do not recall how much it cost me. I
wear it differently all the time and it gives great pleasure when an item can
be transformed and worn in multiple ways. I love the quality of the lace, it’s
a kind of hard lace that doesn’t tear easily. These looks are not very
different, but which suits the dress more. The white bag is one of my valued
vintage buys and the monochrome shoes are from Woolworths, they are a pleasure
to walk in. The blue look was the closest item I could find in my closet so a
lazy combo I know. See how I wore this dress in a totally different way here.

Bag Lady
Hi ladies & some gents I
hope. I love carrying more than one bag, psycho I know. But at times I just
feel like they go well together and therefore should be paired. Crop tops are also slowly creeping into my
closet as staples. I have 13 year old nieces who have a claim on them too so maybe
I should put a stop to buying them. Here
I am wearing vintage Levis jeans I got from a thrift shop. I cut them to that length
because I think they really look better like this. The top is from Mr Price which
I put my own twist on. See here for details on the how. Shoes I got from Steve
Madden, I must say they were worth the price. They are easy peasy to walk on; thanks Steve & your people. The bag
I got from a store in Tygervalley mall and the other yellow one is vintage
which I bought in Woodstock. I put the chain in myself to update it. What do
you think of this look?

Thrifted Meets Luxury
Hi guys. So
of you read my blog, which I doubt anyone does beside my Friend Yandisa, you
will know that I love thrift shopping and vintage items. Half my wardrobe is
from flee markets. I go there a lot and I must say I the luckiest because my
ladies on the markets know me now and they stash items for me because they know
I am a valuable client. What I love about these clothes is that they are rare
& unique and they transform into so many seasons. The quality of the
clothing is also impeccable because back then they used quality fabrics and
materials that would stand the test of time. On this post I am wearing Giorgio
vintage pants which I got for a ridiculous R30. The top came as a set with a bunch
of others where my thrift store lady said I can take 10 for R5 each. She made
my day.
The bag is
from Zara & The shoes, booties what you may call them are from the +WOOLWORTHS SA RE: Collection.

My Art; My Bag; My Creative Mind
Hi Guys. I don’t
know about you but I have a restless soul, one that constantly needs to create
and make beautiful things. In my eyes, my creations always bring joy to my heart. Some
of the time they don’t come out the way I envisioned but none the less I do my
best. The other day I was sick on leave and I just could not sleep and I felt
like I would waste a whole day by sleeping. So I looked at my collection of clothes,
fabrics, make-up, shoes etc. on what could inspire me.
I came across
this clutch bag I got ages ago when I was in 1st year Varsity I
think. Its plain white but over the years it’s browned a bit. I have tried
cleaning it to no avail and so it took a back seat in the collection. I came up
with a rescue plan for it to regain some life. I did an inspired DIY on it.
See the
results below; inspired by some magazines and raging mad creative mind, I took
drawings from a collection I am sowing for myself for Summer/Autumn 2014-15 collection and put them on my bag. See below the pics on how to create your own or contact me to
make you one.
You will need:
Plain bag, colour of choice
Nail polish, as many colours as you like
A sharpie marker
Some cotton buds (Earbuds)
To make:
1. Trace a stencil of whatever look you want on the bag
2. Paint in the look as you like it to appear
3. Allow to dry
4. Easy peasy, show off your new look
I hope you enjoyed.

Splashes of Paint
Hi Guys. This weekend I did a shoot because I just woke up
inspired to explore the area where I live. I had much fun shooting some looks
which you will see later on the blog. On this post I wore one of my favourite
buys ever from Mr Price. This 2 piece is master piece and of course a fashion
angel from Mr Price made it all possible. I wore it with a bralet I bought from
a boutique somewhere I forgot. The shoes are from the Lalla for Legit range.
Love them too. Leave a comment about what you think and you would style it. See how I also wore it here & here
XOXO

Rocking the Daisies 2014
Hi Guys. So I love rocking the daisies and have been going since
2012. This year was a disappointment for me because a few days before the
festival started, I had a soaring toothache. None the less I made what I could
of the Saturday and tried to soak up the sun & enjoy the music. My favourite
thing about the daisies is the Savanna Lemon tree theatre where there are top
notch comedians entertaining us all day all weekend. Of course the main stage
brings the biggest crowds. To be honest I am not familiar with the music from
many of the bands. I am however familiar with fun & style and that works
for me. Music speaks to people even when
sung in a different language. I would highly recommend you try it once and let
go for 4 days.
I wore a matching vintage set I altered. I love this
combination.
